well first i put in for a check in at 3 (which got approved) . To then get there and find out no one even works in the building until 5 pm. messaged chris to find out where or why no ones there and got no response. So then we had to change out in the parking lot because we couldn't even get into our rooms until after the biking day was over. Then to find out that after i showered our towels had black stuff all over them so i dried off with my clean cloths. And the most frustrating thing is to realize you pay for a room (check in at 5) and have to be out by 11 am . so you pay for a room for literally half a day, basically just to sleep in.
My group of friends have been going to Snowshoe for 4th of July and snowboarding every year for years and this is by far the nicest place I've stayed at in the Mountain Lodge. The room was clean and the view was nice despite not currently having a balcony. I would highly recommend to anyone searching for a place in Snowshoe
I picked this unit because it advertised having an AC unit. It did not have it hooked up. The nature of these units due to the layout is they’re HOT, so this was a major disappointment. The WiFi also did not work.
There are like a hundred of these units on Airbnb to choose from, and I just wouldn’t pick this one again.
Mountain Lodge is honestly the best "bang for your buck" lodging on the mountain. It's right next to the village and I'd say about 90% of the rooms there have an absolutely amazing view of the Basin side of the mountain. ML328a is very cozy and comfortable. It's also very well stocked with movies to watch on DVD.
The unit was exceptionally clean and very well furnish. Communication and the lodge staff was helpful and friendly
Had a great stay here! Everything was clean and the location is wonderful.
Location is great with it being ski in/ski out and on top of the mountain. However, not much else was great. There are stains on the comforter and there was some kind of pizza sauce looking stain on the couch sheets. There was no sponge, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, wifi didnt work. Not sure if it’s the cleaning peoples issue but with there being new looking stains on sheets it seems like they weren’t washed. There was also hairs on the sink and shower that looked like someone may have shaved and the cleaning people didn’t clean it up. I would pay a little more to stay somewhere more accommodating and clean next time.
It was honestly everything we needed for our stay. Like most older buildings it does get stuffy on the third floor, but unlike most condos, you can actually use these windows to get some air flowing!
Noise was never an issue, but we also were up early and out during the day riding. The lights from the groomers would shine in the window at night, but that’s definitely not a deal breaker. It was cool to watch them and the views were top notch.
Check in and out was a total breeze. Even the ML crew was nice and chatty. We would definitely stay again.
Great location!! unit could have been cleaner and you cannot control the heat.
Great place to stay, very convenient just over looking the Ballhooter lift. Slept 4 very well with plenty of room for everyone!
Just as advertised! Great location
Clean and well maintained unit on the third floor. Overlooks ballhooter lift and is a great view of spectating skiers fall coming off the lifts.
Great value and a great location. As advertised. Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely little place to stay at Snowshoe! My only complaint would be it was not very clean. There was a bandage stuck on the wall in the bedroom. But other than that, the stay was wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great place to stay. Fantastic location and very clean upon arrival.
I would not stay in this room again. It did not meet my wife standards for cleanliness. This is a hard pass for me.
This place is great. One of the more updated rooms we have stayed in. Fantastic slope side views!
Great location with quick access to the Ballhooter lift and a short walk into the village. Check in/out was quick and simple, and the front desk staff were friendly. Luggage carts are available in the lobby and the building has elevators, which made unloading/loading skis, snowboards, bags, and groceries a lot more convenient than some of the other places we've stayed in Snowshoe. The condo is a corner unit, so you have a lot less noise and foot traffic from the outside hallway than other places in the building.
As other guests have mentioned in previous reviews, it does get warm at night, particularly in the bedroom. I'd also recommend bringing your own pillow if you're picky about that sort of thing. Nothing that would deter me from coming back though.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to future travelers.
Great place right next to the slopes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider it the next time we head to Snowshoe.
Pros: Great location next to slopes and Ballhooter lift. Good price, check in/out was painless.
Cons: Condo is showing its age, but understandable given the actual age of the Mountain Lodge facility. A small but manageable hike to the Village, lift tickets, rentals, etc. Nothing too crazy but inconvenient if wearing snowboard/ski boots. Lastly, I don't think the unit had AC, or at least we couldn't figure it out. Even in December with the heat set low, the inside temp was quite warm and it was a challenge to cool the place down, especially at night while trying to sleep.
Overall, nothing we experienced would have been a deal-breaker to keep us from renting again.
The listing was as advertised. it was a clean, convenient, accurate listing. i really appreciated the proximity to the slopes. check in and out was easy. The one complaint is the heating never stops so you have to have the door and window open to cool off the room. It is also a little cramped for more than 3 people, but it's a lovely listing.
Was very clean, but there is no balcony as advertised per photos. No ac throughout the location and had very hot bedroom- had cold night (on night 3) with no heat. Was 38degree and front desk said they could not help
Perfect location for ski in/ski out and enjoying the Snowshoe Village amenities. A little tight for more than 2 people but not a big deal if your our the whole time.
Less expensive than other places and very conveniently located next to some runs and lifts.
Prime location right at the top of the Ballhooter Lift. Great views. We came to see our son who is a ski instructor and had a blast. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Thanks!
The location and proximity to the slopes and village are great. The views looking at the top of the lift were wonderful. Watching skiers/snowboarders during the day and snowmobile/groomers at night was fun. The building and unit could use some major cleaning and updating but nothing that was stop us from coming back. Internet was poor and would have been nice to have in the evenings. Overall we had a great stay.
Such an awesome space!! Extremely close to the slopes so it was perfect for us! If you are planning to stay while there are still COVID restrictions I would definitely recommend bringing some extra blankets and pillows since they are a little limited to make sure everything is easy to sanitize! Otherwise, great location and would definitely recommend!
Location is perfect for skiers and non-skiers. Ski in/ski out. Beautiful view, nice place. Cozy, all the amenities needed. It is easy to tell that the owners take good care of the place and put a lot of thought into their guest.
Super nice view, perfect location, top floor, very quiet.
Nice condo with an excellent view of the slopes and Ballhooter lift. Would definitely book again!
Well appointed and a great location!
I was disappointed that the place was under repair, I think I should have been told. It was a deserted atmosphere with no one around, the condo was ok, The air conditioner did not go into the bedroom and no fan was there to push the air in. It was hot in there to sleep.I did not come prepared with food or drinks and nothing was available.
My husband and I just needed a weekend getaway and he thought of Snowshoe. Our one bedroom suite at the Mountaintop Condos was a good price and just what we needed. The suite was very clean and well maintained. Our only issue was that the slider door to the balcony was hard to get open and shut but that was minor.
Convenient location for snowboarding
Perfect location with up-to-date interior. Great view of Ballhooter chair lift.
Great spot, perfect location for access to the mountain. Stairs/elevator not super close to the room so a little inconvenience when walking in ski boots. The bedroom is hot in winter. No thermostat in bedroom only main living area, so had to sleep with window to the common thoroughfare open. A little awkward, kind of feels exposed. TV in bedroom didn't work, but I was there for outdoor activities anyway. All in all a great value for a quick ski getaway.
Great little condo. Perfect for what we needed it for. Super clean and amazing location plus guarded parking lot. The condo was perfect for the two of us and all our gear. Kitchen is equipped well. Would absolutely return.
Convenient, nice view of the top of the ball hooter lift, and helpful hosts!
Great place to crash on right on the slopes
We had the best time at Mountaintop Condos. It was perfect for what we needed and it made our time at Snowshoe so much better. We will be back.
Great location, great price
Nice and cozy little unit, great location to ski lifts. Owner really nice and responsive. Offered us an opportunity to stay one extra night which helped tremendously to have a night of rest before our return trip.
The condo is in a great location. Slope side and in the village area. Pool complex is right next door, parking was vey convenient. Everything was clean and in working order. The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and we didn’t need to turn on the heat at all. The unit stayed nice and warm throughout our stay. Nice view from the porch, but couldn’t really go out there due to snow piled up. Would be good to have a small shovel to clear it off. There is no onsite restaurant anymore. It moved to the village area and we wouldn’t recommend it. Other restaurants in the village were pretty good but resort prices make bringing food from home and cooking in the condo a plus. There’s not a lot of counter space but full size refrigerator, stove and microwave were a big plus for us. Owners provided excellent communication and guidance. Check in was a snap. We will stay with them again.
Mountain Lodge is a Great location and this Condo #328 was especially convenient; nice amenities including large flat screen TV in Family Room and smaller set in bedroom with good sized kitchen table; no crock pot and kitchen utensils/pots&pans were pretty minimalist but we made it work; nice microwave but could use at least one lounge chair in the family room beyond the three person sofa ...the site pictures show one but this chair was missing in actuality.....the existing configuration worked fine for two adults and possibly would work for a small family with young kids ok but I suspect 4 adults would feel very cramped; the ski closet needs to be cleared out to make more room for skis and related equipment since that is the only place they allow skis to be stored per their instructions...I had to move a 40 pound air conditioning unit out of the ski closet into a spare bedroom closet to make room for anything in there and one of the bedroom closets had a lot of wasted space due to carpet remnants and other junk just left in there...in such a small unit every piece of space counts so the extraneous stuff should be removed from the closets; bed was comfortable but view down the mountain was very limited....the view of Ballhooter lift exit ramp was exceptional and made it easy for people to reconnect if one person wanted to make a few extra runs while the other waited inside in the warmth; Mountain Lodge check-in and out service was very efficient as was parking process...if you forget just about anything (like a hair dryer for example) they can rent you something from the front desk for next to no cost or just a deposit...they even provided us a brand new extra heater for no charge even though we made no request for one just to ensure we were warm on an extremely cold night!...but the built-in heat on the this third floor condo was more then adequate by itself. Information provided prior to the trip was outstanding for the most part but lacked any mention of how to score the best lift ticket deals...we found the web advance purchase option direct from Snowshoe offered the most economical price and allowed us to pick up the tickets next store to this condo at Allegheny Springs resort...very convenient...72 hour advance purchase required using this option however. Would stay here again but might look for a unit with a little better view of the mountain...the morning sunrises lighting up the slopes with an orange hue are incredible at Snowshoe.
I had to travel to West Virginia to attend a funeral in a small town about 1/2 hour away from Snowshoe. I was thankful to book Chris's condo on short notice for my two night stay. The unit is on the top floor of a huge complex (Mountain Lodge). The unit was exactly as described and is in a well maintained building. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Snowshoe was just gearing up for ski season so there weren't many guests there yet but this condo is a great place to stay for skiers and non-skiers alike. Snowshoe offers lots of summer activities as well. Located in a beautiful part of West Virginia.
Great place! Ski in/out right to the slopes. About a minute walk to restaurants, tavern, shops...etc. Perfect for what we needed! Beautiful view of the mountains and room was equipped with all necessities for cooking. We had a great experience.
We had a really fun time at Snowshoe! The slope & village access from the condo was great! Just steps away. The lodge was good for our last minute ski trip.
Chris' place was clean, cozy, and in the perfect location, just steps away from the village. We really enjoyed our summer stay!
My 3 friends and I stayed here for our spring break and honestly could not have had a better time! The room was exactly what we needed for an affordable fun vacation. We cooked all our meals in the room without any problems and had easy access to the slopes, village, and even pool/hot tub across the road (for free!). The room was a little warm but nothing that a cracked window couldn't fix. Wifi was spotty but offered us the chance to disconnect and really relax. Was never an issue when we needed to send some emails or texts. Overall, would definitely recommend!
Great location! Balcony overlooks the slots and the lift is right outside the building. Very short walk to the village. Loved the place, my only complaint is that it is a bit dated, but the price makes up for that! Would highly recommend!
I had a wonderful time at Chris and Alison's place in Snowshoe. The accommodations were perfect. Ski in ski out, everything just as advertised. No need to drive. You'll be close to the village, within walking distance of shops, coffee, food and the Ballhooter speed lift. Snowshoe shuttle can take care of the rest. One note: if you arrive early, make plans to ski or hang out in the village as check in time is quite late (5PM) and they will not allow you to park your car in the lodge lot. This was my last ski trip of the season, short and sweet; but just what the doctor ordered. Already dreaming of next year Will definitely be back for more.
We had such a great weekend in Snowshoe! My husband and I drove in Saturday morning and went skiing until check in. At 4:30 we drove into Mountain Lodge and scored great parking. Check in was a breeze and the front host was so helpful with detailed instructions on how to get to our room. We used the baggage cart to bring up our stuff, plenty of them were available. Our room was so cozy and cute!! We were amazed with how close we were to the ski lift and the view was awesome! It was pretty exciting to see all the action going on after the slopes were closed...snowmobiles and trail groomers. The sunset was pretty to watch as we warmed up before heading out to Silver creek. It was a quick walk to the village where we caught the bus to go night skiing. We prepped a lasagna before our trip so we popped that in the oven once we got back. It cooked perfectly and we loved having a home cooked meal. It made us feel more at home in the condo! Everything else was very comfortable... bathroom/shower , bed, neighbors. We have no complaints and didn't experience any disturbances. It was awesome to get right onto the lift in the morning. The exit from the lodge leads right to a great trail! We came back at check out and went right back out through the lodge to ski some more. I even enjoyed some Starbucks(also a very short walk from the lodge) from the lobby overseeing the slopes from a large window. Everyone was so nice! Even just staying one night, we had a lot of time. Hopefully we'll book in advance for the future and stay longer, but thankful for the experience! Thank you Chris and Alison for letting us enjoy your awesome condo! We'd love to come back again! -Joyce & Gabe
Awesome experience at the condo and at Snowshoe in general! The condo was exactly as described and perfect for a ski trip with friends! Stayed the weekend and skied 3 days. The location at top of Ballhooter couldn't be better! Right by all the restaurants, shops and lifts. The condo itself had everything basic you could ask for, and if you needed anything else, the room service was speedy to get it to you. Check in and check out was a breeze, even a midnight when I arrived. Would definitely come back and stay here again. Thanks for having such a great place Chris!
The listing description was right on. Pictures were exactly as the condo is. Being right on the slopes was awesome. Super convenient to walk out the door and be on the slopes. We've never stayed slope-side before and will ALWAYS do so from now on. Condo was clean and well appointed but really warm. Listing description says it tends to be warm and suggested to open the door to cool it off which is what we did. We didn't run the heat at all during our stay and it was 20 degrees outside. The fan found in the master closet was an unexpected bonus for cooling bedroom down and blocking out noise! Condo had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again if we make it back to Snowshoe. Thank you Chris for the great rate on your condo. You provided our family with many fantastic memories.
Location is great, literally ski out! We've been going to snowshoe for years, but first time staying in mountain lodge, little older but comfortable. Make sure you get locker rental at check in, because they are first come first serve... And we never managed to time it right.
Our stay at Chris' condo in Snowshoe was great. It was a truly ski in & out building. Everything was so cleaned and we were even able to check in at 3pm 🙂 "Helpful Hints" list provided was very helpful; we had a hard time signing in to the wifi but I think it was our provider, the front desk had a 1800 number we called and everything worked with their help. Will definitely stay here again!!
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time in Snowshoe! The condo was nice and clean, also the perfect size for two people and we really loved how we were able to see the the chairlift from our window. The pictures are very accurate to what the condo looks like, and the location is perfect. The only thing that I would complain about is the WiFi. There is no service anywhere in Snowshoe, and the WiFi was very hard to maintain a connection with. Regardless, we will definitely be back!!
from $77 / night
